Back In The Old Days

Vince Maggio (Vinny) and Brian Balancio (Benda) had known one another and had fished commercially for a few years before coming together as a team to run the charter boat "Live Bait" out of Waianae, Hi in 1996. These pictures are of their first trip with a paid charter, two Blue Marlin (the biggest 953 pounds)and a bag full of MahiMahi. They never looked back and today run one of the most successful charter operations in Kona.

The Vinny and Brian continue to work and fish together as a team and along with Eric Demarco and Shawn Bebeau comprise the core of the crew on the Monkey Biz Fishing Fleet. All are licensed captains all share the responsibilities of maintaining boats and equipment and all are addicted too, with lot's of experience in, catching Hawaii's abundant gamefish.
